Because summertime will end soon enough, and childhood as well...
Blessed relief from the wave of tropical heat and humidity that hung over our region like a wet blanket since early summer finally came last week in the form of some nice cool dry weather courtesy of our good friends, Les Habitants up in Canada. A real treat for this time of the year in these parts, so thanks for that. It's safe to go outside again, with optimism, I think.
When an opportunity like this knocks, I give it my attention. So I cleared my calendar, put a new message on my voice mail and I lit out for one of those famous branches of the Upper Delaware River in pursuit of summer sulphurs, Iso's, hebe's and the good old fashioned Amerikan dream. I never found that legendary two-headed trout of Catskills fly fishing lore but I did find some mighty fine fly fishing.

What good is the warmth of summer, without the cold of winter to give it sweetness.
