This year's Black Forest Star Party at Cherry Springs State Park is scheduled for August 26-28, 2011 rain or shine. Our own Cherry Springs State Park in Potter County is one of the finest dark sky locations in the light polluted East Coast for both, amateur and expert, astronomers alike.

The above image of the California Nebula in Perseus, captured by Joe Golias at the 2009 Black Forest Star Party, is just one example of the type of imagery that is available with a fast imaging system from the dark skies in the area around First Fork of the Sinnemahoning Watershed in the Allegheny Mountains of Pennsylvania.
