Poe Paddy

I finally had a chance to meet up with my good friend Glen G for some camping and cahill/drunella action at Poe Paddy on Penns Creek last week. Take a look at the above hydrograph and try and guess which day we got there? You nailed it on your first try, instead of being greeted by a smorgasboard of cahills, sulphurs, isonychias, blue winged olives, stoneflies and caddisflies we were greeted by 1,100 CFS of muddy limestone water, yet again. We tagged a few fish on Penns on streamers but none of them ever got near a landing net.

All was not lost though...... we wound up eating a little too much, drinking a little too much and we kept the skunk smell off by catching a mess of brookies in the freestone mountain feeder streams around the campground. Glen's pancakes with bacon and coffee will knock the socks right off your feet. The moon was almost full for our last 2 nights and the mountain laurel was at it's peak, as the following shots will reflect. Sorry for the delay in me getting around to tossing this post up, and thanks to Greg G for filling in with a timely pinch hit home run in my absence.

I know those roads (and amish) well. Sounds like you made the best of it.

That Poe dude sure recognized Eldorado when it hit him in the face.
