What I did on my Summer Vacation....

What I did on my summer vacation...I got in my car, and then I drove a pretty long way and then we got to the place and then we got out and then we set up camp and then we drank some bourbon from a tin cup in the rain, and then we ate lots of delicious food, and then the next day we went hiking, then ate some more, and then we drank beer around the fire, and laughed a lot, and then we kinda did the same thing the next day, and the day after, and the day after that, and so it went, and then we came home. Here are my pictures....

Family and Friends...

The Objective: Mt Jefferson, up the Caps Ridge Trail.

Making progress....Still another 1K of vertical to go......

View From the Top...Summit of Mt. Washington, and the Great Gulf Wilderness.

Day's end.....A Damn Good day! Mt. Jefferson and the Presidential Ridge that connects to Mt. Clay.

The next day...From the flank of Cannon Mtn., looking toward Mt. Lincoln, and the Franconia Ridge.

Lonesome Lake from the south flank of Cannon, on Hi-Cannon Trail.

Lunch at the summit of Cannon Mtn. A little crowded for my liking, but the accommodations were absolutely plush!

Kinsman Ridge Trail as we descend from Cannon. Not exactly a walk in the park.....

Lonesome Lake, almost back at camp. Another 1.5 downhill and we're there!

I neglected to hike on Wednesday, and drank beer earlier in the day than normal. It too was a good day!

The next day, not all of us were up for a 7-8 mile trudge, so we found one that even the younger folks would enjoy.

Even the older folks liked the view from this cupcake trail....Looking south into Crawford Notch.

Mt. Webster, from the summit of Mt. Willard.

Its a pretty nice place to think and ponder life, or not.....
